Overlapping Corrugated Roof Sheets

A basic rule of thumb for installing metal roofing is that the piece of roofing higher up on the slope should always overlap the one below it.

It is usual to allow roof sheets to overlap into gutters by about 50 mm. This helps to prevent water infiltration.

To install corrugated roofing start by cutting your panels to length with an angle grinder. The sheets should overlap by at least four inches add a bead of caulk where they overlap and at the other end of the building ensure there s an overhang of two inches.

When joining panels you should use silicone sealant along their vertical length and overlap the sheets by one corrugation. Wear thick gloves when working with the metal roofing sheets and keep safety goggles on at all times.
