There is a safety shut off in the circuitry so if the voltage or current gets too high the motors stop for a while before allowing the system to operate again.

A very easy mod just takes some time and basic knowledge.
It features 2 spinning flywheels positioned in a vertical layout with a 10 dart revolving barrel.
So far with 8 4v as shown in my mod guide my nerf barricade motors are still running okay.
Removable secondary 9v battery added in handle of blaster.
I modified mine after a few months so that it shoots further 9v mod.
When boost button triggered voltage to motors goes from 4 5v to 13 5v.
