The chances of cutting right through the backing paper on sign vinyl are high and this is something i ve done more than once with a new blade.
My blade is cutting through vinyl and backing.
I m new to this.
I m trying to cut vinyl 651 i think and every time it cuts through the vinyl and backing.
The same goes for the portrait 2 autoblade.
These blades come with a white or red cap.
I m using the cameo 3 with the self adjusting blade 4 0 software and i ve adjusted the thickness all the way down to 1 and it still cuts through the back.
This allows the machine to cut without the glitter getting stuck on the blade and in the housing.
And if you buy a new blade you will just have to test test and test again as i ve found the settings for your old blade will probably not work with a brand new blade that s all sharp and shiny new.
Out of six blades i measured only one was the same as the factory german carbide blade.
You need to make sure you text cut every time you change vinyl to avoid wasting materials.
However i have found that this blade is usually longer than the german carbide blade and will cut through the backing on your vinyl.
You can access the cut settings by clicking on the send tab in silhouette studio.
Once you have arrived at the send tab this is where you can change your settings.
Ensure that you are using a cricut brand blade.
In most cases there are two quick fixes that will fix the issue and get you cutting successfully in a hurry.
The fine point blade formerly standard is slightly longer and will cut through vinyl and carrier backing sheets if used with the newer machines.
Open clamp b and remove the blade housing from your machine.
Always test cut prior to starting so you can find out sooner than later if you are using a piece of loose glitter cardstock mirror your image and turn over the paper.
I contacted silhouette but the process they wanted me to go through to prove that the blade wasn t cutting correctly was so ridiculous multiple photos videos from a specific angle which is impossible for me to get on my own that i just didn t bother.
Then inspect the blade and blade housing and remove any debris that may be stuck to the blade or lodged in the blade housing.
Once clean perform a test cut.
I have measured these blades and they are usually around 0 035 longer and sometimes up to 0 100 longer.
The explore series and the maker use the premium fine point blade.
